Hogg was born in Scotland in 1840 before moving to Ireland. He was a protestant. ==Career== David Hogg and Charles Mitchell built a five-storeyed shirt factory in Great James Street in 1898,〔(Culture Northern Ireland: The Shirt Industry )〕 since converted into apartments.〔(Hogg & Mitchell )〕 He was a magistrate.〔"House Of Commons."
